‘The Merchant Princess’ is the name of Alexis Bannerman’s art studio and gallery, and its name references the Women artists, famous merchants, pirate queens (and mermaids of myth!) who flourished throughout Ireland’s ancient past.

Alexis is inspired by this rarely known but fascinating history of Women, and as an artist, living and working on a 40ft schooner boat in Ireland, she has dedicated her brand name to them for good measure!
